Breast size is determined by genes, hormones and weight. Although many women’s breast size is in proportion to their body structure, some women’s breasts are large and cause pain and emotional distress. In breast size reduction surgery, excess fat and skin is removed with the purpose of reducing breast weight.
Because this surgery is not necessary for health reasons, this operation is considered to be cosmetic and is performed while the patient is under general anesthesia.
At BeautyHungary our certified and world renowned plastic surgeons are ready to make your life easier. Compared to West European countries the cost of cosmetic surgery in Hungary is more affordable.

Breast size reduction incision techniques
There are four surgical techniques that are used for a successful breast size reduction.
- Inferior pedicle technique
Also known as the keyhole method, this technique involves making an incision around the areola. The incision is made in a downward direction and then the extra skin, fat and glandular tissue is removed from the breast. Finally, the nipple and areola are repositioned
- Vertical scar technique
Also called SPAIR or 'short scar breast reduction', this method is preferred by most women because of minimal scarring. To apply this technique the surgeon performs a 'lollipop incision' to the breast which reduces scarring. The size of the breast is visibly reduced by removing the lateral and inferior tissues. The upper part of the breast remains intact.
- Breast liposuction
This technique is usually performed on women whose breasts are perky, not large. The fat is removed from the inside of the breasts. This technique is much easier to perform than other techniques but unfortunately the healing time is longer. However, there is less pain involved and the procedure is economical.
- Free nipple graft technique
With this technique, the nipple and areola are completely removed and then repositioned higher on the breast. Due to the fact that breastfeeding is not possible after this surgery the procedure is recommended for women who have already had children. The free nipple graft technique is used only in extreme cases.
Breast size reduction costs
The cost of breast reduction includes personal consultation with the plastic surgeon, general anesthesia, surgery, one overnight stay at the clinic, two special bras what you have to wear after breast surgeries, medications and post-surgery support.
Recovery after breast reduction surgery
In the breast size reduction and breast lift procedures, the results are always amazing. If you are considering this procedure you can expect the outcome to be firmer, lighter and smaller breasts. Recovery from this surgery may take from as little as a few weeks up to six months as your body get accustomed to your new breast size.
Even though patients often say that their recovery was easy, there are certain complications that may result. Scarring, asymmetry, absence of nipple sensation and delayed wound healing - these are only a few of the problems that may occur after the operation. This is why it is very important to choose the procedure our physician recommends.
Breast size reduction has helped many women and men regain their confidence and have made their lives easier.
