The neck lift surgical procedure
A neck lift surgery takes approximately one hour and is performed under a general anesthesia. After making a small incision under the chin, and behind or in front of the ears if needed, the surgeon removes loose skin, any excess fat and also tightens the muscles. After surgery, the patient is required to stay one night in the clinic with a facial bandage, which will be applied to the treated area and is worn night and day for approximately 5 to 7 days.
Recovering after neck lift surgery
After a neck lift operation our plastic surgeon will explain to you all post-care instruction. Careful adherence to these instructions will contribute greatly to the success of your neck lift surgery. Your surgeon may prescribe medication to aid healing along with a mild painkiller if you experience any discomfort. You will be allowed to do light activities 1 to 2 days after your surgery. The average recovery time for most patients is between 3 and 4 weeks.
