Brief History
Hair transplantation has been around for decades. In the 1950’s, it was discovered that hair taken from a donor area continues to function and grow even when transplanted to a totally different location. This discovery led to a completely new medical practice, the reconstruction of hair on many different parts of the body. However, the lack of development in this field meant that the results looked very unnatural, due to hair being transplanted in too large units.
In the 1990’s, it was discovered that if hair is transplanted in follicular units, the result will be natural in appearance, and thus mostly satisfactory. Since then, hair transplant gained immense popularity, and developed even further. We are happy to provide you with the most modern treatment for your unique and specific needs.
The difference between people regarding natural balding is the degree of hair loss, and the exact age that it occurs at, which is as early as the age of 20-25 among some men. When cranial hair starts to recede, there is no other intervention as effective as hair transplantation.
BeautyHungary offers two male hair transplant procedures: one method is best suited for patients with longer hair (FUT) and the other technique is ideal for patients with short hair (FUE).
Your Choices
Our clinic provides two different techniques for hair transplantation, both of which are of the latest and safest technology. One is called Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT), the other is Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE). Please refer to each page for more information about these two opportunities.
We provide hair transplant surgery at a very affordable price.
Price includes consultation with your plastic surgeon, general anaesthesia, the surgery itself, your needed medications, and post-surgical visits.

How It Works
Hair transplant surgery is a procedure that involves surprisingly minimal discomfort for the patient. During the operation, hair is transplanted from the donor area, usually the back of the head, into the affected area. To ensure that the most natural and effective results are achieved, hair is transplanted in so-called follicular units. Follicular units are natural, genetically formed and bound hair groups, which usually contain 1-4 hairs. This transplantation technique is the latest and mostly advanced method in hair transplantation. Our doctors will ensure that you will get the best and most natural looking results possible, with the safest equipment, and most extraordinary care provided at our clinic.
What It Helps
Besides natural hair loss, there are many other reasons why you would need hair transplant surgery. Trauma to the scalp often leaves the skin with scars that are completely hairless, which can cause a very unwanted appearance. Cuts and other accidents may be the cause of such scalp damage. Head surgery usually leaves unwanted and unpleasant scars that can be very large and very visible.
Today’s modern hair transplant surgery, based on the transplantation of follicular units, can be used to repair the unnatural looking results of older techniques. If you feel that you need treatment for these kinds of hair loss, or simply want to repair the effects of natural hair loss, and regain your younger appearance, please consider our hair transplant treatments.
Follicular Unit Hair Transplantation (FUT)
Follicular Unit Hair Transplantation is a hair transplant method that is used when the patient has a long hairstyle and needs many donor graft sites. During the FUT transplant, a thin strip of scalp tissue measuring 1–1.5 cm wide is removed from ear to ear. The follicular graft is then transplanted from this strip into the selected area. Transplantation in follicular units allows the transplanted hair to appear completely natural after surgery, and with the FUT method, our doctors are able to transplant larger amounts.
The follicular unit hair transplantation does leave a thin scar of 1-2 mm at the donor area, which is why this method is often recommended for patients with a long hairstyle.
How is the FUT procedure performed?
Follicular Unit Transplant is performed under local anesthesia with the patient lying on his or her back from the start of the procedure until the wound is fully closed. After the surgeon harvests the scalp tissue, the tissue is then carefully split into naturally occurring sections of 1-4 hairs, called follicular units. These follicular units are then transplanted into the recipient area with the help of special microscopes, with only wounds of minimal size in the scalp. The end-result will be natural and the donor transplant area will show no signs of surgery at all.
Recovery from FUT procedure
The healing process in the recipient area, where the new follicles are transplanted, consists of only a few days. After recovery, the result will be indistinguishable from the rest of the head of hair. The wound in the donor area will take a little more to heal, however, and the scar that remains after surgery will be very minimal.
